Well Visit and Vaccine Reminders to School Aged Children
Dreaming of a return to in-person schooling for your children or a summer family vacation?
Things are looking better for 2021. The rollout of COVID-19 vaccines is encouraging and will save lives. Vaccination has never been more important to protect our families and communities.
Now is the time to get your children caught up on routine immunizations they may have missed during the pandemic or are due for this year. It’s time to call your pediatrician or family doctor’s office to schedule a yearly checkup for your child.
In 2020, it was “stay home to stay safe”. In 2021, clinics are safe, sanitized and socially distant. Medical offices have taken protective measures to make sure that visits can happen safely, including:
• Scheduling sick visits and well-child visits during different times of the day
• Asking patients to remain outside until it’s time for their appointment to reduce the number of people in waiting rooms
• Offering sick visits and well-child visits in different locations
A safer return to school means vaccinating your child/children this spring with all recommended vaccines. Preteens especially need to receive their recommended vaccines. Children ages 9-12 are due for four vaccines to protect against diphtheria, HPV-related cancers, meningitis, tetanus, and whooping cough.
Call to schedule a well child appointment today. For more information, visit:

What better way to celebrate Teacher Appreciation week than to recognize our 2021-2022 Teacher and Support Staff Person of the Year!
Congratulations to our 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year, 4th grade teacher, Ms. Codie Ruff. Ms. Ruff is always so positive and brings joy to those around her! She is not afraid to take risks and is always ready to learn new things. Ms. Ruff truly cares about her students on a personal and academic level, and they know it! She has embraced change this year as both a virtual teacher for the first semester, and an in-person teacher in the second semester. Ms. Ruff has worked tirelessly, and continues to do so, to make sure her students are prepared. She is a great teacher and an awesome role model for students and teachers in our building! Congratulations, Ms. Ruff!
Congratulations to our 2021-2022 Support Staff Person of the Year, Mrs. Meridith Wilson. Mrs. Wilson’s official title is principal’s secretary and bookkeeper, but she’s so much more than that! She plays a critical role in the operation of our school. She has so many vital responsibilities, but is still always very helpful and kind to everyone! She’s been a calming force in this crazy, chaotic school year. Mrs. Wilson always knows what’s going on, where everything is, and she has the answers to all our important questions! We would be lost without her! Congratulations, Mrs. Wilson!
We also recognized our 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Whitney Kibler, one final time. Because of COVID, we were unable to celebrate her at school and at the District Teacher of the Year recognition dinner. Mrs. Hunter presented Ms. Kibler with her Teacher of the Year plaque and certificate today.
Congratulations, once again, to these Gatoriffic teachers and staff members!view image

In case you missed tonight's phone call, here's all the information!
🐊Parents, this week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Please take a moment to do something kind for your child’s teacher—a note, a card, or a small token of appreciation. Our teachers and staff have worked hard under some difficult conditions this year.
🐊On Wednesday, your child will be bringing home information about completing a parent survey. Please complete as soon as possible. The link will also be shared here. Parents with students in all grade levels with complete the survey.
🐊Please make sure students are completing assignments and turning them in to their teachers.
🐊Please be sure students are doing iReady lessons. This will help your child grow academically because it’s catered to where they are and where they need to go.
🐊Students should come to school with a clean mask on every day.
🐊Please make sure devices are charged each night before your child comes to school.
🐊Attendance is very important during testing times. Please avoid early dismissals if possible.
🐊All changes in afternoon transportation must be made in writing. This cannot be done over the telephone. This is a safety protocol.
