We’re thrilled to kick off another amazing school year at Newberry Middle School with a dynamic and dedicated administrative team ready to serve our students, staff, and community!

🔹 Dr. Tonya Deese-Jeter enters her 3rd year as Assistant Principal at NMS. In the 2024–2025 school year, she was honored with induction into the prestigious Newberry College Hall of Master Teachers — a testament to her commitment to educational excellence.

🔹 Ms. Jennifer Brown returns for her 2nd year as Assistant Principal after previously serving as a top-tier teacher at NMS. She was named Teacher of the Year in 2023–2024 and also recognized as a WLTX Teacher of the Week. Her dedication to excellence in education continues to make a lasting impact on our school community.

🔹 Mrs. Megan Drayton joins the team for her 1st year as Assistant Principal at NMS. She brings an impressive track record from Lexington 5, where she was previously named Teacher of the Year at her school and was a District Teacher of the Year Runner-Up. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Tiger family!

🔹 Mr. Reid begins his 4th school year as Principal at NMS, having taken the helm during the 2022–2023 school year. With a background that includes roles as instructional assistant, bus driver, teacher, assistant coach, head coach, athletic director, and assistant principal, he understands and values the contributions of every employee in supporting student success.

Together, we are committed to fostering success in the 3 A’s: Academics, Athletics, and the Arts, with a focus on student achievement and growth — ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive and prepare for graduation, college, careers, or military service.
