Parents, family, and friends of people who have Pre-K and Kindergarten age students (the child will turn 4 or 5 before September 1, 2021) need to register their child for school THIS WEEK. Everything for registration is done online! To register a NEW Pre-K or Kindergarten student for next school year, go to: https://www.gallmangators.org/o/gallman/page/register-a-student--6 and click the blue button. If you are interested in your child being in Montessori (starting at 3 years old), please email Mrs. Hunter your child’s name and age at nhunter@newberry.k12.sc.us. These students will be placed in a lottery at another date. Interest in the Montessori program does not guarantee a spot.
All School District of Newberry County schools and offices will be closed on March 18, 2021 due to the threat of severe weather. All school activities, including adult education classes and athletics, are canceled for Thursday, March 18. This will be an elearning day for all students. Teachers will provide asynchronous (not live) virtual assignments to all students, including Newberry ONE students, for this day. Assignments will be posted along with the completion due date. The completion of the assignments will be used to determine student attendance for March 18.

🐊Yearbook Sales have started. Your child should have brought an order form home on last Monday. The yearbook costs $20. Orders may be made by sending money in the order form or by ordering online at www.strawbridge.net using the code FMYB102072. We will be accepting orders until Friday, March 19th.

Friday, March 5th is our final day in Read Across America Week and we are ending it with one of our favorite days- Pajama Day! Tomorrow's theme is "Cozy Up With a Good Book" so wear your favorite pjs to school. Remember, they must follow the dress code and slippers/bedroom shoes aren't allowed.
Tomorrow- Thursday, March 4th, we are remembering that "Reading Gives Us Superpowers!" by wearing a superhero shirt!

We encourage you to register now so that you can set up an appointment for your child to take the DIAL-4 test. Waiting until the summer or right before school begins is too late to do this. All spots, especially in PreK, are usually taken by then.

Read Across America Week is next week! Help us celebrate all the wonderful books that help us learn, take us places, and give us so much enjoyment! Students (in-person and virtual) are invited to dress up to help us celebrate each day's theme!

🐊Virtual Parents, we want to make sure all of our Gallman Gators have a picture in our yearbook so we need your help. Please go to www.plicbooks.com/go/ZrAsj and follow the directions to upload your child's picture. Please be sure the pose used looks very similar to normal school pictures.
🐊Parents, PLEASE DO NOT send sick students to school. If they complain of headache, sore throat, fever, or any other Covid-19 symptoms, they need to stay home. If you send them to school, they complain of symptoms, you will have to pick them up and they’ll not be able to return until they have a negative Covid-19 test or the doctors sends a note indicating that it is something else beside Covid-19. We’re trying to keep everyone safe.
🐊Parents, please make sure that any change in transportation is done in writing—a note written in their agenda is fine or a piece of notebook paper. We cannot change transportation over the phone. This is to keep our kids safe and to ensure only those who are supposed to pick them up, have them.
🐊Please be sure that your child comes to school daily with a clean mask. Masks should be washed and cleaned like all other laundry items.
🐊Parents, please be sure your child’s device is charged each day before they come to school. Students must have their device with them at school EVERY DAY.
